Post-Procedure Instructions: Small Bowel Video Capsule Endoscopy

Instructions:

1. Dietary Restrictions:

   • Remain NPO (nothing by mouth) for 2 hours after the capsule start time, then advance to a clear liquid diet.

   • A light snack may be consumed 4 hours after the start time, if approved by the primary medical team.

2. Activity:

   • Encourage the patient to remain upright and ambulate as much as possible.

3. Capsule Handling:

   • There is no need to retrieve or return the video capsule.

4. Equipment:

   • Monitoring equipment may be removed after the procedure but must remain at the bedside.
